Process Evaluations Our Process Evaluations involve studying the biological process and developing strategies and recommendations to improve operations. This is an effective way to determine if your process is running optimally under the current hydraulic and nutrient loadings. When a new facility is built, the properties of its influent are estimated and safety factors are included, accounting for any daily and seasonal peak loadings, as well as population growth. BioChem looks at the process’ biological activity with its BioGuide® technology, and measures how much of the tank is needed for treatment based on the current flow and nutrient loading, not the estimated loading. Whatever is in excess is additional capacity that can be used to treat additional flows or not used, reducing operation costs. Flow Dynamics and Mixing Pattern Analyses Flow Dynamics and Mixing Pattern Analyses - While everyone would like to assume that a tank has adequate and proper mixing patterns, we have seen that many do not. Identifying short-circuiting and “dead corners” can improve treatment, increase capacity and avoid permit violations. Using our patented fluorescence probes, strategically placed along the tank and at various depths, we inject non-toxic dye to monitor its flow throughout the treatment tank. Once our evaluations are complete we can be there to monitor the implementation of any modifications if needed.
